Felonies Dismissed at Pretrial Hearing

The felony theft offenses against Brett’s client were dismissed pretrial after Brett persuaded the Commonwealth it lacked sufficient evidence to proceed with prosecution. Surveillance video footage from the communal mail room and lobby of the apartment complex where both Brett’s client and the alleged victim lived depicted several tenants exiting the mail room with packages on the date in question. The case originated in the Malden District Court and involved charges of larceny from a building and larceny over $1,200.00.
